2021 Radio Auction Cancelled
Concerning the 2021 Radio Auction
As the Covid-19 virus continues to ravage the world, here in Umatilla County leaders are advocating all of us to take preventative measures to help protect our community. As people continue to limit their social actions and stay at home, the economic impacts have been significant. Our small businesses have been hit especially hard.
The support of our business community to the Lions Radio Auction over the years has been tremendous. We in the Pendleton Lions Club believe it is important to help our businesses in what ever small ways we can. With this in mind, the Pendleton Lions Board of Directors has decided to cancel the Radio Auction once again.
We hope in a small way this helps our businesses weather the current storm. Don't worry, our community will survive the Covid-19 epidemic and the Pendleton Lions Radio Auction will return in 2022 better than ever!

Our 68th Radio Auction!
There Are Only:
Left Until the Radio Auction!
How the Auction Works
Items that have been donated by businesses are auctioned live on KUMANews Talk Radio. The auctioneer announces the item to be auctioned and sets a minimum opening bid. Bidders call in to the radio station at 541-276-1511 and bid on the item. There are four operators taking bids, and a runner is assigned to each operator. Bids are taken into the broadcast room and given to one of the auctioneers. Bidders are identified by assigned bidder numbers. The auctioneer will award the item to the highest bid received. Successful bidders can pick up their items the next day at the designated location. Payment is received at the pickup location.
- When multiple bids of the same amount are received, the first bid received by the auctioneer is the one accepted.
- Bids are only accepted when the auctioneer opens the bidding on that particular item.
- Once the auctioneer awards the item no other bids for that item are accepted.

Getting a Bidder Number
When you call in to make a bid you will be asked to provide your bidder number. If a bidder number has not yet been assigned to you the operator will ask you for your name, email and phone number and then assign you a bidder number. You will then use this number for the rest of the auction.
Getting a bidder number during your first call means that your first bid will be delayed in being relayed to the auctioneer. There are two ways to obtain a bidder number before the auction starts:
- You may call the radio station at (541) 276-1511 on the day of the auction between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM
- Beginning two weeks prior to the auction through the Monday before the auction you may pre-register for a bidder number on-line. Simply click on the link below. Your bidder number will be emailed to you within two days.
Picking Up Your Items
Items may be picked up at Community Bank, 157 S. Main Street in Pendleton, the day after the auction between the hours of 9:00 and 5:00 PM. If you cannot pick up your items that day you MUST make other arrangements by calling the Pendleton Lions at 541-238-5466 or Community Bank at 541-278-9000 before 5:00 PM that day.
Any items not picked up on the day after the auction will be disposed of at the discretion of the Pendleton Lions Club, unless alternative arrangements have been made. Successful bidders who fail to pick up items and do not contact the Lions as outlined above may be disqualified from bidding in subsequent auctions.
Paying For Your Items
You may pay for your items by cash, check or credit card. Checks should be made out to 'Pendleton Lions Club'.
